The reality is that MDMA is more likely to be MDEA the synthesized and much weaker version of what was around 20 years ago.

Molly (the name in the USA), known as MDMA is not known as an addictive drug in its self but the concequences of use are quite heavy for a few reasons.
The feel good factor from Molly is the realease of dopamine from the brain in great quantities there is a drain on your brain of chemicals so you get quite a bad come down.
The come down off Ecstacy can create all different kinds of depression that can last for quite a long time.
